The Celta Foundation held the fourth edition of the Celtalks Adeslas last Thursday, May 28, in the Salón Regio at A Sede, a meeting and learning space aimed at the Celta community and focused on issues of particular relevance to personal and family development. On this occasion, the featured speaker was Dr. Pomba Liñares Nistal, a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Pediatrics, who delivered a talk titled “Understanding the teenage brain: keys to providing support.”

The session brought together fathers, mothers, guardians, and others involved in supporting teenagers, who attended with the aim of gaining deeper insight into a life stage that is as complex as it is decisive. During her presentation, Dr. Liñares explained how the brain develops during adolescence and how this process influences the way young people think, feel, and act. Using clear and accessible language, she helped attendees better understand common behaviors during this stage and offered tools to strengthen connection and communication within the family environment.

Topics covered included impulsivity, the search for new experiences, the influence of social context, the emotional intensity typical of these ages, and the main risk factors for mental health. In addition to providing a scientific basis on how the adolescent brain works, the speaker invited attendees to reflect on the importance of supporting this process through understanding, listening, and knowledge.

With this fourth edition of the Celtalks Adeslas, the Celta Foundation continues to reinforce its commitment to the holistic education of individuals and to the creation of spaces that contribute to the well-being of children, young people, and their families. This initiative is part of the organization’s commitment to promoting socially impactful actions that foster personal growth, education, and the transmission of values both within and beyond the sporting sphere.
