Celta took part this past Tuesday, 7 July, in the MentoringLAB event, organised by the Alianza Galega polo Clima in Santiago de Compostela. The event brought together representatives from Galician companies, organisations and public institutions to promote the exchange of experiences and encourage new initiatives to address climate change.

The club was represented by Germán Arteta, Director of the Celta Foundation, who participated as a speaker in one of the event’s panel discussions, sharing Celta’s experience in developing projects related to sustainability, social responsibility and creating a positive impact across the region.

The event also highlighted the second edition of the “Mentoring polo Clima” programme, an initiative promoted by the Regional Government of Galicia to foster collaboration between companies with experience in climate action and organisations seeking to advance the integration of sustainability strategies. This year’s edition has doubled the number of participating organisations and generated nearly 40 proposals aimed at promoting decarbonisation plans, sustainability, technological innovation and environmental education.

Celta’s participation in this forum reflects the club’s commitment to building a more sustainable development model and its willingness to share best practices alongside other Galician organisations. Through the Celta Foundation, the club continues to promote initiatives that use sport as a tool for social transformation and to raise awareness in areas such as environmental protection.

During the event, the Regional Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Ángeles Vázquez, highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among the more than 260 members of the Alianza Galega polo Clima and presented new tools to encourage knowledge sharing and cooperation between companies, universities, technology centres and social organisations.
