Throughout the week leading up to the match, a series of activities helped showcase the work carried out by Fundación Celta in the areas of inclusion, education, awareness and social impact. Among the highlights was a photographic exhibition on Príncipe Street, offering a visual journey through the projects, experiences and stories that define the Foundation’s daily work.

Another key initiative was the development of a pilot sensory box experience at Balaídos, designed to explore new ways of making the stadium more accessible and inclusive for people with autism. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Autism Galicia, the Galician Football Federation and the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

Matchday itself became the centrepiece of the tribute, recognising the people, associations and organisations that collaborate with Fundación Celta throughout the year. Flag bearers and escort kids included children from partner organisations and the Celta Integra Zelnova programme, while representatives of numerous social organisations attended the match from the stands.

One of the most memorable moments came with the recognition of Celta Integra Zelnova, champions of the LaLiga Genuine 2025/26. The players entered the pitch accompanied by the championship trophy won last season, sharing their achievement with supporters and receiving a warm ovation from the crowd. The tribute culminated with the ceremonial kick-off taken by Fran Díaz, the team’s delegate and one of the most representative figures of the project.

The initiative also featured a special warm-up shirt worn by the first-team players and later auctioned to raise funds for Fundación Celta, as well as a dedicated charitable donation campaign supporting the Foundation’s social programmes.

“A Match with Heart” was far more than a football match. It was a celebration of inclusion, solidarity and collective commitment, reflecting Fundación Celta’s purpose of continuing to demonstrate that football transforms lives.
